Rebecca Simkiss

Founder and Managing Director

Rebecca is Founder and Managing Director of Simkiss Recruitment Solutions, overseeing the strategic direction and day-to-day leadership of the business.

A Birmingham girl born and bred, Rebecca has been working in recruitment within the Colmore Business District since 2004. Over the past 20 plus years, she has built a strong reputation for combining commercial insight with a genuinely people-first approach, something that continues to shape the culture and values of Simkiss Recruitment Solutions today.

Rebecca brings energy, drive and ambition to everything she does. She thrives on building momentum, whether that’s developing new initiatives within the business, creating opportunities for connection across the region, or speaking to aspiring entrepreneurs about leadership and personal growth.

Outside of Simkiss Recruitment Solutions, Rebecca has taken on a number of leadership roles supporting the West Midlands community. She has been Chair of BPS Birmingham Future, Chair and Trustee of LoveBrum and has contributed her experience at board level with organisations including The Access Project and West Midlands Women’s Voice. Her commitment to mentoring and regional business has been recognised with a Fellowship from Birmingham Metropolitan College, Birmingham Businesswoman of the Year, and Woman of the Year at the City of Birmingham Business Awards.

Away from work, Rebecca loves travelling whenever possible, discovering great food, and making the most of a sunny afternoon with a good book and a glass of wine.

Helena King

Business Operations Manager

Helena King is the Business Operations Manager at Simkiss Recruitment Solutions, bringing nearly a decade of experience and an in-depth understanding of the business to her role.

Born and raised in the West Midlands, Helena moved north to study English Literature at the University of Leeds before returning to Birmingham, where she joined Simkiss Recruitment as an intern in 2016.

Since then, Helena has progressed through a variety of roles across the business, developing a comprehensive knowledge of the company’s operations, processes, and people. This breadth of experience underpins her current position, where she oversees the day-to-day operations of Simkiss Recruitment Solutions, working closely with the leadership team to ensure the consistent delivery of a high-quality service across all departments.

Known for her calm, considered approach, Helena is responsible for driving operational efficiency and continuously refining processes, with a strong focus on ensuring that candidate care remains central to everything the business does. Her attention to detail, organisational expertise, and commitment to service excellence play a key role in supporting both clients and candidates alike.

Beyond her role at Simkiss Recruitment Solutions, Helena is passionate about contributing to the wider community. She has served as a Membership Committee Member for LoveBrum and as a Tutor for The Access Project. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the wealth of independent shops, cafés, and restaurants the city has to offer.
